Services and Pricing

Fluorescent Probe Preparation from Tissue Samples

RNA purification from tissue (Trizol - PDF) (Qiagen)

  • i. Total RNA $15.00
  • ii. mRNA $20.00

Standard probe preparation will require 1.2 ug of mRNA or 25ug of Total RNA per labeling reaction. A standard experiment requires two labeling reactions.

  • Direct labeling - Currently offered at $47.50 per labeling reaction
  • Indirect labeling - Not currently offered
  • RNA amplification - Introductory price of $165

Microarray Slide Hybridization

FGRF uses an Amersham Biosciences 12 place hybridization station (ASP) with manifold possibilities for automated hybridization conditions. Not just for microarrays, the hybridization station can be used for any of your non-radioactive 2.5 cm x 7.5 cm microscope slide hybridizations.

$35.00 / hybridization

Microarray Slide Laser Scanning

FGRF uses a ScanArray 5000 Laser Scanner and ArrayVision software. The scanner is a resource to scan slides that have been hybridized.

$35.00 / two channel scan

SNP Analysis

FGRF is currently providing SNPLex services for SNP analysis. SNPlex allows you to multiplex reactions up to 48 different SNPs per reaction, lowering the cost of SNP analysis.

NimbleGen Services

We are glad to be a resource facility for NimbleGen services. NimbleGen is a service facility with the unique ability to interrogate gene expression in any organism for which sequence data is available.

NimbleGen's Maskless Array Synthesis (MAS) technology combines photo-deposition chemistry with digital light projection to shorten array fabrication from months to hours.

Customers benefit from extreme flexibility, optimized array design, highly reproducible array fabrication and statistically robust results-all with low cost and quick turnaround.

Real-time Quantitative PCR

FGRF has an Applied Biosystems 7900 Sequence Detection System with a Micro-Fluidic adapter. Micro-Fluidic cards can be designed using ABI's Assays on Demand to investigate the expression of up to 383 genes in parallel. Typical expression analysis and genotyping are also available using individual reactions in microplates.

  • Taqman probe price: $175
  • Primers: $0.30 per/base
  • Reactions: $7.50 (reaction for one sample with one probe in triplicate)
  • Genotyping reaction scan: $11.00
